Have you ever dreamed of walking away from  everything  your life, career and success — to pursue a dream left behind?

Ethan Turner was once a golf prodigy destined for the PGA Tour. Yet instead of chasing trophies, he chose a different path. For the next three decades, he was a top criminal defense attorney—until the weight of courtroom battles and moral compromise grew too heavy to bear.

Leaving behind everything he built, Ethan embarks on a different kind of journey—to the Old Course at St. Andrews, Scotland, known as the “home of golf.” On sacred ground shaped by the wind, sea, and legends like Old Tom Morris, Bobby Jones, and Jack Nicklaus, he rediscovers far more than the game he left behind.

Fairways to Freedom is an inspiring story of risk and reinvention that blends introspection with iconic moments of golf.

As the first novel in author Drew Fairchild’s literary series, it marks the beginning of Ethan Turner’s adventures where secrets are buried beneath the fairways of the world’s most famous courses.

About the Author

For Drew Fairchild, the thrill of solving a mystery has always been as exciting as standing on the first tee. Fairchild spent decades as a principal at an international law firm, where he chaired the corporate practice and led major mergers and acquisitions for prominent clients across various industries. He spent nearly thirty years managing high-stakes transactions, which sharpened his instincts for strategy, detail, and solving complex puzzles.

Fairchild is married and proud to be the father of two sons, both accomplished college golfers. Watching their rise through the amateur ranks sparked his own love for the game. Outside of closings and boardrooms, he always enjoyed reading about golf’s rich history and the architecture of iconic courses around the world—some he has walked, others he has dreamed of playing.

After a successful legal career, Fairchild shifted his focus to writing. His mystery novels invite readers to travel around the world, exploring famous courses while uncovering complex mysteries. Fairways to Freedom recounts his first trip to the Old Course at St. Andrews, Scotland.

With each new novel, Fairchild takes the reader on a journey to iconic golf courses around the world with Ethan Turner, a retired criminal defense attorney whose sharp mind and investigator’s instincts find mystery and danger hidden beneath the windswept fairways.
